Headteacher's Welcome

Welcome

I am delighted to welcome you to the website of Hernhill Church of England Primary School. Our website will give you a glimpse of the many wonderful things that happen in our school each day. Whether you are already part of the Hernhill community, considering our school for your child, or simply finding out more about us, we hope you enjoy exploring what makes our school such a special place.

At Hernhill, we want every child to experience life in all its fullness. This phrase comes from the Bible (John 10:10), where Jesus speaks about living a rich and meaningful life. For us, this means helping every child flourish — academically, socially and spiritually — discovering their gifts and growing in confidence, kindness and curiosity. Our Christian vision begins with a simple but powerful message: all are welcome here. We encourage our children to treat others as they would like to be treated (Luke 6:31), and our ‘People Rule’ helps guide the way we learn, play and care for one another.

We are a one-form entry Church of England primary school with classes from Reception to Year 6. Our modern school building, opened in 2004, sits within beautiful grounds overlooking the Kent countryside — a view we never take for granted! Our outdoor spaces are a vital part of school life and our playground is full of creativity, adventure and opportunity through our commitment to high-quality OPAL play.

The best way to understand what Hernhill is like is to visit us and experience the atmosphere for yourself. We warmly welcome prospective parents to attend one of our open mornings or afternoons. Please contact the school office on 01227 751322 or by email to arrange a visit.
