Wonderstruck Science day!

On the first day back at school, Wonderstruck science came to show us a presentation of their crazy but interesting experiments. This had a massive impact on Hernhill Primary and got us excited about our new school topic, (Bish, Bash, Bosh.)

Wonderstruck brought in such a mind blowing set of experiments which proved Issac Newton’s third law and demonstrated other forces such as friction and pressure. One of our favorite experiments was when Peter got some gunpowder, put it into a metal box and poured a box of Rice Krispies on top. He then lit the gunpowder and the Rice Krispies flew everywhere.

He also demonstrated how to make a paper rocket and let us make our own. After that, we used a launcher to propel them into the sky.

At the end of the day, we made propeller powered cars in our classrooms out of our kit. We were allowed to modify our cars as long as we had a time of the modified car. The two fastest cars from each class were put into the finals in the hall in front of the whole school.

By the end of the day we all went home eager to start our new whole school topic.
