Ofsted & SIAMS
Our most recent Ofsted inspection was in November 2017. We are very proud that we are graded as an outstanding school.
Pupils’ outcomes in reading, writing, mathematics, science and a range of subjects are exceptionally strong because of excellent teaching and an exciting, broad and balanced curriculum.
Pupils behave impeccably in lessons and around the school. They are considerate to each other in the playground, and play together splendidly. Pupils love coming to school. They rarely miss a day and rates of attendance are above national averages for primary schools.
Leaders make outstanding provision for pupils’ personal development and welfare. Pupils seize with relish the many opportunities to develop leadership..
As a church school, we are also subject to an inspection that focuses on our Christian Distinctiveness and Collective Worship. This is known as SIAMS (Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools).
Our latest inspection was in May 2019 and we are graded good with some areas of excellence.
Behaviour, relationships and the concern for wellbeing in the school are exceptional.
Hernhill is a very inclusive school, where difference is accepted as part of everyday life. This, together with the strong support for pupils with special needs, means that all pupils achieve well and flourish.
As a result of the vision that all should flourish, the school has developed a creative and innovative curriculum. This engages pupils in a wide variety of ways.
